AI is helping farmers reduce food waste with their phones
15.3% of farm produce is going to waste even before leaving the farm. That's 1.2 billion tonnes per year. A $20 device that attaches to your smartphone is set to solve this problem for good. A tiny microscope reduces disturbances when scanning food samples and empowers the app-based AI to reach 90% accuracy in detecting disease or parasites with less than 50 pictures. Giving farmers anywhere around the globe certainty that the quality of their produce meets customer requirements and can go into supermarket shelves instead of the garbage dump.https://www.gomicro.co

Legal intelligence combined with local legal knowledge
Afriwise is a legal tech platform that combines legal software with African up-to-date legal information and lawyer connections.  Founded by experienced, commercial and corporate lawyer, Steven De Backer, Afriwise was borne out of a frustration on not being able to access trustworthy legal information on local African laws and regulations. The solution?   A legal intelligence platform that provides companies, advisors, investors and startups up-to-date legal knowledge on local laws and regulations, as well as connections to vetted lawyers based in Africa.   To learn more head to www.afriwise.com.

Celebrate the interconnected histories of First Nations peoples through the works of Daniel Boyd
Daniel Boyd: Treasure Island is the artist’s first major exhibition to be held in an Australian public institution. Featuring more than 80 works from across his nearly two-decade career, the exhibition unpacks the ways in which Boyd holds a lens to colonial history, explores multiplicity within narratives and interrogates blackness as a form of First Nations’ resistance.Working with an idiosyncratic painting technique that partially obscures the composition, Boyd refigures archival imagery, art historical references and his own family photographs, asking us to contend with histories that have been hidden from view. www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/whats-on/exhibitions/daniel-boyd/
