This artwork by Filipino artist Leeroy represents a flotilla of boats. They float above viewers and speak to the nature of the Philippines as a country made up of many islands, in which water has a central place in everyday life. Made from water containers, PET bottles, twine, bicycle wheel frames, ribbons, other found objects and Commissioned by the Biennale of Sydney with assistance from Mirvac and Parramatta Artists’ Studios. Why isn't there an electronic way to find goods in supermarkets? This list on a shelf is all that is available at my local Coles supermarket. Where is the alfoil, for example, on this list?We are in the digital age and an electronic guide would be very helpful. I used to be able to ask staff in the aisles but they are also hard to find now....

Every year NSW generates 8000 tonnes of plastic take away waste. Every year we waste around 7.6 million tonnes of food across the supply and consumption chain in Australia. Every year no states or territories across Australia has taken action. I am designing biodegradable takeaway packaging made from fruit and vegetable skins to help solve the amount of fruit waste and packaging waste in landfills. I seek assistance from industry professionals to help source a pressure heat mould and different moulding techniques? 

Sydney social enterprise Good & Fugly are combating the enormous environmental issue of so-called “ugly produce”. Billions of pounds of produce go to waste every year, 7.6 million tonnes— and cost the Australian economy around 36.6 billion every year. An estimate of about 312kg per person, and cost the average consumer $2,000 to $2,500 per household per year. Not anymore, Good & Fugly has launched a ‘rescue’ hotline for farmers for the Good & Fugly team to purchase surplus fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go to waste when produce retailers reject them due to not meeting beauty standards.  

Per capita, Australians produce a reported 24 kgs of e-waste each year.
