LOEWE Weaves
The LOEWE Weaves project: is a collection of unique artisan crafted objects, including artist-embellished Galician chestnut roasters, woven leather bags, baskets and accessories. “The act of weaving can take many different meanings and forms; it can be used as decoration or as a way to build a structure,” says Creative director Jonathan Anderson. “We went both ways, with the aim of pushing craft to the extreme and exploring new ways to bring objects to life, turning traditional techniques into something unexpected.” https://www.loewe.com/int/en/stories-collection/loewe-weaves.html

Aussie's in the race to deliver AI-on-chip
This year's CES trade show heard of Aussie Brainchip Holding's partnership with Mercedes-Benz to deploy its AI-at the edge chip to manage the voice control system in new model EQXX. The chipset is said to be 5-10x more energy efficient. The latest AI and silicon developments come off the back of recent commercialisation of their new products & research collaboration with Air Force Research Laboratory. The new neural network processor is being designed to execute machine learning models more efficiently (event driven and energy). Other use cases including cyber security (anomaly detection for IoT?) are being explored.https://brainchipinc.com/about/

Australian Space Technology
Australia spends an annual $5.3 billion on satellite observation to provide data for national industries such as defence, mining, oil & gas, agriculture, and finance. However, there are many problems associated with satellite imaging.Rainbow Python tackles the satellite imaging problems by utilising Spiral Blue’s Space Edge 1 Hyperspectral (SE-1H) to analyse stored hyperspectral data cubes while Esper’s Over The Rainbow high resolution hyperspectral imager (OTR) will attempt to capture these datacubes. Rainbow Python will be Australia’s first hyperspectral mission. See https://www.amgc.org.au/project/project-rainbow-python/

KoolPak Advanced Manufacturing
TomKat Global Solutions has developed a new thermal container for the food cold chain – the KoolPak. Currently the most commonly used container for this purpose is expanded polystyrene (EPS) containers. However, polystyrene is being phased out because it is single use and is creating a significant environmental waste problem. The KoolPak has superior thermal performance to a polystyrene container, is multi use, and is fully recyclable. See https://www.amgc.org.au/project/koolpak-advanced-manufacturing/
