Lululemon's retail strategy took an advanced tech step with the acquisition of Mirror (at-home-fitness mirror - voice activated 'smart mirror') mid last year. And their latest patents point to a strategy of embedding biosensors into their fitness clothing to determine stress and other wellness indicators. With data driven AI models and more its clearly early days but the possibilities for retail are significant particularly in post COVID times - is this a brand reputation play or a bigger product-market opportunity?https://www.retaildive.com/news/whats-next-for-lululemons-tech-ambitions/601500/image credit: lululemon
Countries including US, China, India, France, Germany to name a few recognise that investments in science and technology are the fuel for future prosperity and economic development. They continue to invest (with medium and long-term lenses) accordingly.ASPI's latest report into quantum technology shows Australians are highly influential in this scientific research & commercialisation opportunity, despite our size and geographic location. But that leadership (and ability to take other Australians along for that success) is threatened. Is it too late? Can we course correct in time?https://www.aspi.org.au/report/australian-strategy-quantum-revolutionImage credit: Wired Magazine (March 2020)
Prof Thomas Picketty's work on voter alignment demonstrates
the continued fragmentation and movement of voter support between Australian
political parties.
(Report by Troy Bramston, The Australian 19/6/21)
This unravelling of the bases of the 2 main parties, Labor
and LNP, was all too predictable as they have both become so inward focused and
have lost touch with their primary role in implementing ‘common good’ outcomes
that the broad community can support.
A great opportunity exists for the party who
re-connects across the electorate through broad-scale active listening,
evidence-based policy formulation and communication, and then action, focused on faultless implementation.
