Parents in some parts of Denmark who do not send their children to daycare will lose family benefits. Denmark has adopted legislation making daycare mandatory for all children over the age of one in disadvantaged neighbourhoods, and parents who do not comply will lose their family allowances. The cashless debit card has been designed to help disadvantaged communities, including in indigenous areas, decrease the level of consumption of drugs, alcohol and gambling which impacts on the health and wellbeing of communities, families and children. It quarantines 80 per cent of welfare recipients' payments for other living expenses. In March 2015, nearly 75% of young people in detention in WA were identified as Aboriginal or indigenous. Strong Tomorrow is an intensive mentoring and case management program for young offenders that Save the Children has been delivering since 2014 in Armadale (in metropolitan Perth) and since 2015 in Kununurra (in the Kimberley) which both have high rates of crime. It's targeted at young offenders aged 10-17 and aims to reduce rates of offending which initial results indicate it has. The cost of this program compares very favourably with the cost of keeping a young person in detention at approx $300,000 per annum.

By summer 2019 all public transport in Luxembourg will be completely free. Luxembourg has the highest car-to-person rate of any nation in the European Union:- 662 cars for every 1,000 people. Every day the population of its capital city swells five-fold due to commuters. The hope is that eliminating all fees for public trains, trams, and buses will encourage more people to use those service. Not only would that decrease personal vehicle traffic, it would also be better for the environment.
